The
Mattka Lecture Series is a program at Theatre of Western Springs started
in 1999. It is named in honor of Gertrude Mattka, an Active Member
of TWS from 1953 until her death in 1996. The inaugural season of
lectures and workshops is supported by a memorial fund established in
her honor. Gertrude Mattka described her 43 years of participation at
TWS as a long-time, wonderful learning experience, almost like a post-graduate
course in theatre. The Mattka Lecture Series celebrates the curiosity
and commitment she brought to the TWS community.
